Creative Tools for Kids' Fitness

I’ve been on the lookout for fun tools to keep kids engaged during workouts, and I’ve found that using colored cones really opens up a world of games and activities! One of my favorites is making a mini obstacle course where they have to hop, skip, and dash between the cones. It’s amazing how quickly they learn coordination while having a blast. What creative tools or games are you using to keep your young clients motivated?

Playing tag with colored cones can turn a simple game into a full-on fitness fiesta! I set up cones as bases, and the kids love sprinting and dodging around them; it’s like a mini Olympics in the backyard. Just watch out for the ones that get too competitive — sometimes they play harder than my adult clients! @FitnessFunClub has some great ideas for kids’ workouts too.

I love using colorful hula hoops alongside cones to keep things fresh! Setting them up as targets for jumping or as areas to hop in and out of adds another layer to the obstacle course. Plus, kids really seem to enjoy the challenge! Have you tried using hoops too?

I once set up an array of soft foam blocks as hurdles alongside the cones, and you’d be surprised how much the kids enjoyed leaping over them — felt like we were hosting our own mini Olympics! @hannahf_24, mixing in some challenges like that keeps their excitement levels up.
