Hands-on CE for better hypertrophy coaching

I need continuing ed that gets me on the platform, not behind a screen — courses that drill bar path, tempo, and spotting on heavy compounds to drive muscle gain without sloppy reps. Ideally an 8–12 hour in-person lab in Chicago in April that carries NSCA CEUs and uses real tools like bar-speed trackers or 60 fps video for technique breakdowns. What programs have leveled up your coaching cues and hypertrophy programming beyond the textbook?

If you’re set on Chicago in April, the NSCA Illinois State Clinic has been my best in-person lab — my last one ran a full Saturday and we drilled bar path/tempo with 60 fps breakdowns; the keeper tip was filming a side view and chalking a vertical line on the upright to keep the bar “stacked over midfoot.” Small caveat: CEUs and tools vary year to year, so check the agenda here: Featured NSCA Strength & Conditioning Events | NSCA.

@OP Quick win: set a 0.3–0.5 m/s floor and film ‘60 fps’; petition NSCA CEUs if needed.

I built the exact 8–12 hour lab at a local gym and petitioned NSCA CEUs — approved in a week; drives me nuts when it’s all slide decks. We ran a Vitruve on the rack plus phone slow‑mo to clean up ‘bar path over midfoot’, anchored squats to a 3–0-1 tempo, and kept work sets within ±0.05 m/s of the last warm-up to stop sloppy reps. Small caveat: cap groups to 6 per rack or the tech bottlenecks — @OP if you want to DIY in Chicago for April, here’s the NSCA recert link to submit the petition: Stay Certified | NSCA.
